Abraxus President Frank Dedon Earns Certification in the ASCA

Frank DeDon, President of Abraxus Snow and Ice Management and Abraxus Salt, LLC, has finished a rigorous, multi-tiered training program earning an ASCA-C designation with the Accredited Snow Contractors Association (ASCA). This means that Frank is “ASCA Certified”, an education-based certification for the snow industry professional looking to help reduce risk in their operations. This helps both the snow contractor and the insurance industry and supports the ASCA’s long term objective of making the snow industry a better place to do business in. These Industry Standards were developed to reduce risk in snow operations and ultimately to be used to properly educate property managers, building owners, insurance carriers and others outside of the snow industry on a baseline to identify a professional snow contractor, versus an unqualified contractor offering snow removal.

The ASCA represents professional snow and ice management companies in the United States and Canada. The Educational resources they provide are based on and intended to ensure that snow and ice management professionals are aware of the Industry Standards as set forth and approved by the membership of the ASCA. “Although I was recognized by the ASCA in recent times for career recognition,” says Frank, “I was looking for my staff to eventually become ASCA certified, and it occurred to me that I should lead by example on this one and I’ve really enjoyed and benefited from the accreditation program. I’m telling my staff and network of service providers across northeastern Ohio they’ve got to do this as well. I believe in this kind of education but sometimes you have to go beyond lip service and just do it.”
